A crane truck is a truck with a device that lifts, swings, and lifts goods by means of a hydraulic lifting and telescopic system, usually fitted to a cargo vehicle.

A manlift truck (aerial work platform) is composed of a chassis, upper structure (hydraulic system, working arm, outrigger mechanism, lifting mechanism, slewing mechanism, working platform and its levelling mechanism, etc.). It is mainly used for street light maintenance, tree trimming, wall cleaning, bridge maintenance and other operations. The work bucket in front of the working arm is mainly used to transport personnel and a small amount of accompanying tools into the air for operations.


Both crane trucks and manlift trucks can lift goods.
The manlift truck mainly lifts goods of up to 1 tonne in mass, small in size and easy to move by means of the 1-tonne hook in front of the working boom, but the working radius is not as flexible as with the crane because the working boom of the folding boom aerial work vehicle cannot be telescoped.
The crane is mainly used to lift heavy, bulky goods by means of the boom.

An aerial work platform is a vehicle that transports staff and equipment to the site and carries out aerial work. There are chassis and outriggers, which can be opened to keep the body balanced when working; there is a boom, which can overhang the work, cross certain obstacles or lift in one place to carry out multi-point work, which belongs to special vehicles.

The crane truck is a crane mounted on an ordinary or special car chassis, and its driving cab is set up separately from the lifting control room, and the legs are required when working, listed as construction machinery.
In terms of the operating environment and function of the vehicle, the crane is mainly used for lifting, slewing and lifting of goods through the hydraulic lifting and telescopic system, and is mostly used in stations, warehouses, docks, construction sites, field rescue and other places.

The aerial work platform is mainly used for overhauling street lights, pruning branches, wall cleaning, bridge maintenance, etc. The work bucket in front of the working arm is mainly used to transport personnel and a small number of tools to the air for operation.

The safety performance of the aerial work truck is extraordinary in terms of safety and security capability. The aerial work truck is equipped with manipulation devices in the working bucket and on the slewing seat, controlling the engine start/stop, high speed/low speed from a distance, using an electro-hydraulic proportional valve to control the action of the arm, the working arm can rotate continuously on the left and right, relying on the linkage mechanism to automatically maintain the level of the work tank, and the emergency pump can be manipulated to lower the work tank when the main pump fails, with functions such as night lighting and safety alarm. The modified crane, on the other hand, does not have any safety protection function, and in case of failure, the staff in the working bucket will have no way to save themselves.

From the working capacity aspect, aerial work vehicles, for different operating environments have different operating vehicles, such as folding boom aerial work vehicles, through the folding boom and basket turning ability, greatly improving the flexibility of the aerial work vehicle, so that it can also be freely extended in a small space, coupled with the basket operation function, improve the efficiency of work. Modified cranes, on the other hand, obviously do not have this capability.
