If the driving computer detects long-term/repeated low regeneration efficiency or excessive accumulated particulates in the regeneration process of normal driving, the regeneration indicator light will flash, which suggests that the driver should manually regenerate to improve the combustion efficiency of particulates. The in-place regeneration scheme can be considered as a remedy for the DPF overload and frequent regeneration caused by the bad driving habits mentioned above.
Low regeneration efficiency is usually caused by the following reasons:
1) During the regeneration period, the engine runs at a low speed for a long time (such as less than 1500 RPM) or at a medium-low speed and keep working in large throttle condition for a long time;
2) The vehicle stops/shut down frequently after short distance;
3) Aging of oxidation catalytic converters or unqualified fuel that make the catalytic efficiency decline.
If the regeneration indicator on the dashboard is flashing, follow the following steps:
1) Please park the vehicle in a safe place as the exhaust system temperature is extremely high (above 600 degrees Celsius) during regeneration——safe place.
Open space without inflammable or explosive substances under and around the vehicle, pay attention that the exit of exhaust pip must be away from other objects (the temperature is extremely high). Do not park the vehicle in small confined places, such as underground parking lot, parking garage, indoor and other narrow closed places, set in idle speed (the engine should be in idle running state) pull the handbrake.
2) Long-time press the manual regeneration switch (press more than 3 s), and the engine runs more than 20 s, then regeneration will start automatically. When regeneration begins, the regeneration indicator will be keep light on.
During the regeneration period, the engine speeds will rise to 2000 RPM, 3000 RPM, 2800 RPM, 1500 RPM, and stay at different RPM for some time. When regeneration complete, the vehicle will turn back to idle.
A full regeneration process will last about 15 to 20 minutes.
> There are two ways for a vehicle to parking to manual regenerate:
1) Diagnostic instrument
2) Press DPF switch on instrument platform for 3 seconds (the vehicle starts, DPF light flashes, SVS light is on)
> Vehicle DPF regeneration needs to meet the following conditions:
1) Speed ≤ 0.5km /h
2) Gear O
3) Clutch in unpressed state
4) Accelerator pedal ≤1%
5) Brake pedal in unpressed state
6) Water temperature >30° C
7) Carbon load <127.5g
(If any state is not satisfied during the regeneration process, DPF regeneration will be interrupted)
1. Diesel oil must reach national grade 5 or above, and the sulfur content is less than 50ppm (to prevent particle increase and catalytic converter poisoning caused by inferior oil)
2. Replace the specified model oil in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommended maintenance period(10W-40/CJ-4)
3. Always pay attention to the oil level and check whether there is a large increase in a short time. Frequent regeneration will aggravate oil dilution.
4. If the emission-related fault light is on, remind customers to go to the 4S shop for maintenance as soon as possible.
5.Ensure that DOC is in good condition. If a fault related to inefficient DOC is displayed, replace DOC as soon as possible.
6.Warning if the DPF temperature sensor and DPF differential pressure sensor are faulty, replace them in time
7. When you park to manual regeneration, pay attention to the high exhaust temperature. Ensure that there are inflammable and explosive items around the whole temperature discharge pipeline, especially below the DOC and DPF and in the direction of exhaust outlet
8. If possible, maintain good vehicle usage:
1) Do not run the engine at low speed and with large throttle for a long time/frequently (the emission of particulate matter increases, and the temperature is difficult to rise during regeneration).
2) Do not stop the engine after running for a short time frequently (it is easy to cause incomplete regeneration and frequent regeneration).
3) Although the manual regeneration switch is designed to solve the problem of increasing particulate matter and frequent regeneration caused by the above two bad driving habits, it is also recommended to avoid the above two bad driving habits as far as possible.
